Ocean Springs is located on the 62 mile scenic shoreline of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is one of the many bustling communities found along the water. Known as the “City of Discovery,” Ocean Springs offers visitors an array of naturalistic art depicting the harmony between this enchanting town and its natural surroundings. Local artisans, including the late American master Walter Anderson, have long shared a passion for the serenity and beauty of our Gulf Coast and a desire to illustrate its importance to this area. We at The Roost share this vision and hope you will give us the opportunity to be part of your experience as you discover why the community of Ocean Springs is so strongly connected to its art and nature. Just know, it’s easy to fall in love and harder to leave!
Located off of Porter Avenue, The Roost is a quick 10 minute walk, 5 minute bike ride, or 2 minute golf cart ride to downtown Ocean Springs or Front Beach. Just across the bridge are even more adventures to be had along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so let this be your one stop guide for all of our local favorites. History of The Roost
Chasing Light on the Mississippi Coast
The constant presence of the gulf works its way into everything, from the special people and culture you find there to the stunningly beautiful light. Knowing this area is a photographer’s dream, and Visit Mississippi brought two different visual storytellers to the region to turn their lenses on the most dramatic scenes they could find.
From the bayous to the bays and the beautiful harbor towns, they found inspiring scenes everywhere they turned.
